Balloon Classes Start Here
Simple-Easy To Make! Beagle-Giraffe-Weiner Dog-Sitting Dog-Doggie Hat
Supplies you will need: 1 long skinny balloon (Qualatex 260 Q) 1 wind bag (your lungs or a BALLOON PUMP) 1 magic marker (Sharpie’s are best) A lot of patience!
• SAFETY IS FIRST!:
• NEVER LET A YOUNG CHILD HAVE A BALLOON UNSUPERVISED!:
• NEVER PUT A BALLOON IN YOUR MOUTH!!
• NEVER POINT A BALLOON AT SOMEONE’S FACE WHILE YOU IN-FLATE THE BALLOON!
Now, let the fun begin:
Let‘s learn about the balloon-there are two ends and 1 middle. The two ends are different, one you can blow into and the other you can’t! Simple, HUH? The middle is the fun part, it is the part of the balloon where MAGIC HAPPENS!
Your imagination can go wild with the middle of a balloon, anything is possible here. For our first balloon animal we are going to start with something different - a DOG! Not just a dog, but a dog that you created. It is a basic balloon creation , but you gotta learn to walk before you can run. From a dog’s basic shape you can create any number of things: a giraffe, an alligator, a space gun, a hat, and a bracelet.

HOW TO MAKE A BALLOON DOG: Take a long skinny balloon and blow it up anyway you can. It is best to use a balloon pump! Blow up the balloon until you have about 2 inches of the balloon still uninflated. The uninflated part is call the tail ( not the tail of the dog). Burp!!! Your Balloon. (Oh, It’s OK. Your mom isn’t listening). Let just a puff of air out of the balloon to soften the balloon. This helps keep the balloon from popping. Does your balloon look like this one?

Great! Let’s do the Twist!
What is the twist, you ask? A twist is what you do to get a straight balloon to look like an animal. This is where patience and practice will pay off. When you twist, use your fingers and your hand to measure the balloon. This way you will have a balloon creation that looks like an animal. You will see, what I mean after you start to twist your balloon into a dog. It is important to imagine in your mind how a dog really looks, a head, ears, legs, a body and a tail.
Basically, to make a balloon dog , you will twist a balloon and make a run of smaller balloons (bubbles). Twist the balloon by taking it into both hands and turn the balloon in opposite directions. This will break the balloon and you create a twist as you turn the balloon 3 times minimum. When you are finished with your balloon creation you will have a balloon with a run of 10 bubbles. The bubbles will measure approximately 2 inch, 1 inch, 8 inch, 1 inch, 4 inch, 4 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, 4 inch, and the rest will be the tail.

Sounds simple, it’s not. Use your fingers and hand to measure approximate sizes, you will get better as you practice.Twist the 2 inch and one inch bubbles and hold them.
Twist the 11 inch bubble and loop it and twist (point A) with( Point B) this will give you a loop which you will slide the 2 inch bubble into until the one inch bubble meets the loop. This is the head and ears.
Twist a 1 inch bubble (neck ) and two 4 inch bubbles (front legs). Twist (point C) with (point D) to make front legs.
Twist a 3 inch bubble (body) and two 4 inch bubbles (back legs). Twist (point E) with (point F) to make back legs
The remainder of balloon will be the tail.

You have just created your first balloon animal. Congra-tulations!

Take a magic marker and add some eyes, color the nose, add whiskers and spots and you have a custom balloon creation.

Do you want more?

If you vary the length of the body, legs, ears and tail. You will be able to create a number of different balloon creations without much extra effort.
A Giraffe is the same doggie with a long neck, a short body and a short tail, use a yellow balloon! The bubbles will measure 2 inch, 1 inch, 8 inch, 8 inch, 4 inch, 4 inch, 3 inch, 3 inch, 3 inch, and the rest will be the tail.
